Federal law in the United States defines three levels for organic farming. Products for which all ingredients and processes are certified receive the “100% organic” label. Products with at least 95% certified ingredients can use the term “organic”. These two categories may display the “USDA organic” seal. A third category includes products with at least 70% of certified ingredients, these can use the expression “made with organic ingredients” (produced with ingredients from organic farming). In addition, the products can bear the logo of the certification organization which approved them.
